WindyForests explores how wind power, forestry and local interests can coexist in forest landscapes. Through stakeholder collaboration and advanced modeling, the project supports more sustainable decisions for wind power development.

In E-tools, researchers collaborate with forest owners and managers to improve continuous cover forestry growth models, evaluate management strategies, and make the results accessible through a user-friendly web service.

Meet Fabio Carrer, a PhD student at the SLU Forest Damage research school. With a background in mathematics, he wants to develop statistical methods and make data collection on forest damage more cost-effective.

SLU is now announcing eight new PhD positions as part of a collaboration with the forest sector. The positions are part of the research programme Wallenberg Initiatives in Forest Research (WIFORCE), aimed at meeting future knowledge needs for the sustainable management and conservation of forests.
